iPhones are made by apple which is one of the most popular companies in the world that have sold many devices and made millions of dollars in profit. They are well known for their iPods, iPhones, iPads and many other great devices and they are one of the top competing companies in the world. The iPhone 5 is no different because it is great phone that is easy to use with many great features. Even though it is a few years old It is still usable today and it supports 4G networks worldwide.

The phone is cheap to buy and affordable making it worth it`s price. It was a lot more when it first come out but now it is cheap and the best time to buy it is today. It is nice looking phone that is fast and reliable and today I will be helping you decide if the iPhone 5 is something you want to use. The iPhones that were released after were upgraded with newer technology but the iPhone 5 has some great features and still packs punch making it still worth using in society even today.

Overview

The iPhone 5 has a nice design and it is a nice looking phone. It has 4 inch IPS LCD touchscreen display with a good resolution that is clear and easy to see. The iPhone 5 is powered by ios 6 and it is upgradable to ios 10.3.3. It has 1GB of RAM and 16GB, 32GB or 64GB internal storage depending on which one you choose. The internal storage is not expandable because this no Micro SD card slot. There is a loudspeaker and headphone jack and connectivity features including WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, mobile hotspot for data sharing, GPS, USB 2.0, USB proprietary reversible connector, compass, accelerometer and Siri commands and dictations.

The Benefits Of The iPhone 5

There are many benefits to using the iPhone 5 starting with the network. It supports 3G and also 4G on carriers that support 4G meaning that the phone is still usable today and you will not have to upgrade after 3G is switched off. The phone is fast, performs well and is clear, easy to see and easy to use and navigate. Apps run well and smoothly and so does the internet. Checking emails, web browsing, using social media and other internet related activities are fast and offer fast speeds.

The battery life will last a full day on a single charge when you are doing simple tasks like calls and texts as well as with heavy tasks including internet usage. The GPS allows you to use Google Maps for navigational features and Siri works fast and well allowing you to use your phone hands free. There are different storage options available to suit your needs and icloud is also supported. The rear camera takes decent pictures and FaceTime and video calls are supported by the phone.

Where To Buy

The iPhone 5 is not available in carriers because it is an old phone. But it is sometimes available in post offices and electronic stores. The phone is available online at places like ebay, amazon and kogan. It is available at a cheap and affordable price and it is worth paying the money for it. The phone will come unlocked so you will be able to avoid paying any unlocking fees and it will come ready to use with any sim card from any carrier without any problems or limitations.

There are no month to month plans available in carriers for the phone even though they still support it. But you will be able to put the phone on a bring your own phone plan. This means you will just have to buy and activate a sim card after inserting it into the phone and then put some credit on it. There are a lot of these plans available and they are cheap and include data. They start from $15 per month and you can pay more if you like to get more data and other inclusions on your plan.

Is The iPhone 5 For Me?

The iPhone 5 is great phone but it does have it`s positives and negatives just like all other smartphones. It supports 3G and 4G and it comes with ios 6 which is upgradable to ios 10.3.3. The rear camera takes decent photos and there is 1080p video recording and support for FaceTime and video calls. The phone supports icloud and the battery life will last a full day on a single charge even with heavy tasks. The phone is slim and light and it has the ability to share data with a WiFi hotspot.

The downsides though start with the aluminum body because it looks good but it is easy to scratch. There is no FM radio and the display is small. The phone supports only Nano sims and is incompatible with previous generation accessories meaning you will need an adapter to use them. There is no NFC or USB mass storage mode meaning you are stuck with only iTunes for loading content. Apple Maps are not too good and there is Mono audio recording for videos and no stereo speakers.

Conclusion

The iPhone 5 is a great smartphone all in all with a lot of great features. It supports 3G and 4G with carriers that support 4G meaning that you will not have to upgrade your phone when 3G is switched off. The phone comes with ios 6 and it is upgradable to ios 10.3.3. Even though this iphone has been around a while, it’s definitely stood the test of time in it’s reliability and is a great option for people who can’t afford the incredibly high price tag of newer model iphones in this current market! Great review you’ve written here on the iphone 5 🙂

I used to have an iPhone 5, but then I upgraded. I was interested to read that you would need to put credit on it. I suppose this would be a great back up if anything were to happen to my new phone.
